Tips to remove some S2 Understeer

Trade in for a S1 is not an acceptable answer before some smart ar$e suggests it

As the title suggests, I'm looking to dial out some of the understeer from my S2 111S. The front tyres are original Bridgestones, done nearly 17k and have loads of tread left but they are 2.5 yrs old and seem to have gone off a bit.

(1) Should I just fit standard new front tyres ??

(2) New front tyres but with go for wider ones on the standard rims ??

(3) A048's/R888's and ditch the Bridgestones ??

(4) Geo adjustment ??

(5) All of the above ?? I'm a bit caution about doing this as I don't want to turn it into something that's going to spit me off into a hedge first time I have to lift off the throttle mid corner. Or would that not be the case ?

(6) Any alternatives ?? I don't want to go down the road of fitting wider front wheels if at all possible.

Tips or suggestions most welcome :cheers

Replace all tyres with AD07's and remove all the camber shims from the front. That should do it

What tyre pressures are you running ? I tried different pressures last year and got my car handling much better but I didn't keep records doh !

Over the last few days my car has been handling like a pile of poo . Dropped air out of them on Monday f25 r26.5 . It was awful . Dropped some more out of the rear it was worse . Today checked again they were at f26.5 r28 dropped it again and its so much better . Ok the weather has got warmer but this was in a my cool garage and using different gauges . Checked the suspension all over and appears fine , I thought something had worn but all is ok .

Best way to remove the understeer from an S2 is to install the AD07 (as per McKeann's suggestion) and a Lotus Motorsport Anti Roll Bar.

Worked a treat on my car - geo change will help, but increasing the camber only helps if your pushing the wheels over during the cornering, will wear the tyres out quicker and make the car feel vauge whilst going in a straight line (whatever a straight line is :D )

The ad07's aren't available in a 195 profile unfortunatly. You'll need to look for other options if you go down the 195 route

I don't get the 195 mania - tried it, wasn't impressed.

Best tyre for the S2 by a country mile (so far) is the AD07 and as a bonus they come in the right size for the wheel too

Indeed but you don't always want to be driving around the understeer when on the public highways - some jobsworth copper will just pull you :P

Been done before by John Donaldson, but can't recall if John tracked his car.

Lets hoping that the tyre or suspension gives before you pull the tyre off the rim.
