Hi

Where is the best place to get a spare key and fob for the S2 exige?

Also, my car is due for in for her first MOT test in the next few weeks. Does anyone on this board use (and recomend) any Glasgow based garages for their MOT's, or would you just take it over to SLS in Edinburgh?

Lotus are probably the only place to get either a key or a fob. I suspect they order the key as a blank and you need to get it cut. The alarm system usually allows new fobs to be coded in using some technique that is no doubt described in your owners manual. There is typically a limit on the number of new fobs that can be coded in, but I'll bet you haven't reached it yet.

My local MOT station takes good care of my elise and caterham. They block out the ramp to the workshop so the nose of my car (when it had a nose) didn't catch.

i guess the exige keys are not the smae as the S1?
is the fob and key combined?

I'm not sure whether key and fob are the same as S1 (mine is a separate key and fob, not combined).

I was hoping somewhere independent would sell keys/fobs rather than going to a (lets take price and double it) ...dealer.

I suppose I'll give MMC a ring.

if the key fob is the cobra one then you can pick these up from ebay and programme them yourself.

The keys that i have are from an old vauxhall astra, so you can pick these up quite easily.

You can use any Lotus place to get the parts - if MMC don't give you a sensible price it's worth calling Christopher Neil to get another point of view Ali at SLS may well be able to order these too.

Think I forgot to thank you for this top tip ro55.

Picked up 2 spare fobs on ebay for 20quid, cobra dealer quoted 50quid for one!!
