which tyres

Any advice on which rear tyres to fit on a 111r? I have been running Yokohama AD07s and they seem fine - although I've only done 2k miles since I bought the car and was told that they would be good for 5k. I'm happy to accept that my driving might be a bit dodgy and that the salesaman may have been a bit economical with the truth.
Most serious milage will be on the A82 and that sort of road, only doing one track day this year. Any thoughts on the best tyre for the job and where to source them? I believe MMC are looking for about 130 a shot.
Cheers

Stick with the AD07's. Far and away the best all round tyre for the elise, IMHO.

The bridgestones are fine road tyres and should last longer than the yokos*
* The yokos are a better all round tyre but for road use the bridgestone are more than good enough

I take it you bought it second hand, and its not 2K since new

If so, defo worth getting the geo checked to make sure there isn't silly amounts of rear toe in to blame for excess tyre wear.

From Robin:
The current non-R tyre of choice is the Advan Neova (I think that's what they're called); they're really good in most conditions, including on track - you will need some confidence in the wet though as they will tend to lock a bit until you get them warmer. The standard bridgestone RE040 are actually pretty good too, though, so no point switching until you need to; performance is pretty similar (I would say the Advan is better on a dry track, but otherwise not much in it). Check pressures are as per owners manual.

Advan Neova is an S1 tyre - the Advan AD07 is the one S2 varient.

Not really- A full set of RE040's from Drivers in Glasgow was £400 fitted, whereas AD07s without fitting are £409.74( including the SE discount)

Cheapest i could get the 225/45/17's REO40's - (LOTUS ones)
was £110 each inc fitting & balancing from Black Circles
David
PS - apparently the AD07's are meant to be the better tyre....... but then again, if you drive your car hard enough
to notice the difference - you should be running the Yoko A048's !

You got to measure oranges against oranges - so LTS spec tyres.

I disagree - I think you can tell the difference when driving at 3/10th
