Scottish Elises

Got my parts today for gaskets,PRRT and cambelt change but I can't get my hands on a cam locking tool until next week.

Any ABZers got one I can borrow this weekend or know of anywhere that's likely to have them in stock?

try motor factors i got my one from a motor factor chain in inverness whose branch in elgin stocked it they usualy sell fancy wheel packages cost £1.95

Tried a few motor factors - earliest I can get one is Tuesday

You can use something else, e.g. some back-to-back strips of old cam belt or a wedge of some sort. It's really no big deal if the cam pulleys aren't locked; in fact I sometimes take the tool out to just advance the exhaust cam a fraction to ease fitting the belt over the exhaust pulley, then return to proper setting before feeding over the inlet pulley. If that's all that's stopping you, go for it without and improvise something to lock the cams whilst threading the belt.

Craig was going to give me a hand but he's working this weekend I think - should manage without one, as for skimming, don't know - I'll have a look if i take it off. I'm hoping that the leak is from the manifold so I'll attack that first.

As robin says its just two minutes to set the cams so nothing to worry about, ill come in by when im home

A bolt of the correct size will work perfectly

Pretty sure I've got one in the shed if you decide to go back to the 'by the book' method
