got my car back from mot test center passed

but needs a new left hand side ball joint. is it just a ball joint i order or does it come with other gubbings attached.
im utterly clueless
oh and where is the best place to get it from?

Just the ball joint.
Avoid eBay, there are inferior ones around, so Geary at
http://www.eliseparts.com is still probably the best bet.

If you intend to do it yourself you will also need the tool for pressing the joints into the wishbones (its really easy), cheers Craig.
