Had a quick search, but can anyone tell me what the thickness limit is on the standard S2 brake disc. S2 111S MY04.

Cheers

According to the service manual :

New 26.0mm
Service minimum : 24.9mm

I seem to recall that there was some debate in the forums a couple of years ago along the lines of the manual was wrong - then again I am getting on a bit and my memory isn't what it once was :)

Yes, but I don't actually make OR use them.

Anyway, 25.4mm is what's left. Not "the rears are nearly shot, the same as the front" I was told a few weeks back.

Yes - I thought I remembered reading something about that too after I'd posted. I found a few posts on SELOC which appear to confirm that Lotus didn't update the manual after changing from MMC discs. The correct figures, confirmed by the Lotus technical department appear to be :

New : 26.15 mm
Service Minimum : 24.0mm

..... so at 25.4mm your discs are only approx 35% worn. :thumbsup

Cheers for the clarification.

Makes me wonder if the fronts needed changing at all. At least I now know that changing the rears (If I do) will only be for cosmetic reasons at the moment, and so can go to the bottom of the spending list.
