I had the same trouble with the Esprit when I thought of changing my Larrini... Fork were quoting stupid money when I had a dual syatem made for my VW for £350. Lotus is much shorter and simpler well my design was and forlk were wanting a fortune because it's a Lotus... Theiving gits :(

Still with a noisey Larrini hahaha

Any ideas on how custom exhaussts would sound ?

I was always under the impression they would be sh*t , i had one done for my fiesta (boy racer faction) £400 from drivers city center . It sounded great(for a fiesta) but Ive never thought bout this approach on the lotus .

Id like another exhaust with the same design as the stage 2 , but would like somthing that still sounds the dogs danglies. Perhaps like a 2bular or larani

Just ordered a custom design from 2bular.... Been discussing options for a couple of days now and that's the order down!! :D To give you an idea - all his other exhausts are basically not loud enough..........................! 8)

It's going to sound quite special we think...!

Details to follow - due date 2-3 weeks.

I am interested in a custom exhaust too. In my opinion ALL current sports exhausts for the 111R/Exige are nothing like as good as they could be, including the Larini I have on mine, Stage1/2, 2Bular, Quicksilver and all the rest. The essential problem is that exhausts which sound really good at full chat are too bloomin loud when you are on a part throttle. The only solution is a switchable valved exhaust which can be properly rorty when you are in the mood, but no louder than the stock exhaust on the motorway, preferably switchable by the driver. The space restrictions in an Elise/Exige make a valved exhaust tricky, but it is definitely doable as shown above - about time someone came up with one at a reasonable price.

Buy from the Japanese website not the US website and its 390,000 Yen (around £1900).

Looking forward to my 2bular... I unfortunately disagree. Just think all the exhausts are not loud enough - but hey...! Reverie Induction Kit and a Stage 2 and I'm still not that impressed

Next door has a Corvette Stingray and a Ford Mustang SGT - mint condition old school and both a LOT louder than any of my cars..

Next door to him has a Jag XKR fully done up with straight through pipes... Also has a supercharged S Type which just sounds awesome...!

And two doors down in the other direction has a M3 conv.... Upgraded exhaust and de-cat...

So it's a loud street

Rest of the neighbours hate us - but 2bh their chav kids cause more noise and havoc than all our cars put together so I don't really care :P

Lewis,

I would be very interested in hearing what your new exhaust sounds like, as it may be something I do in the future. I already have a stage two and a carbon ITG maxogen on my S2 111s.... but like you, I feel it is not loud enough.
I don’t want to de-cat it, so this may be a solution
