Removing OMP s/wheel

Post by Gareth » Thu Jul 17, 2008 7:20 pm

Cant get the boss off.
As you will see from this pic there's hex screws that are holding it on. Tried a number of different socket sets/ WD40 but the buggers wont turn.
Any advice. This is of course if that's how you get the hub adaptor/boss thing off. Removed the red cap which reveals a nut which I know will need removed too. If I'm not to remove the hex screws I won't be taking the slagging on my own...there are others involved who will be named and shamed :D

Yeah, if you can get at that nut without removing the top plate on the boss, it's the only one that'll need to come off.

So will I!

More in embarassment though. Must have removed twenty steering wheels in my life and never once had to undo hex nuts - but when you explained the problem I didn't think past getting the b*ggers lose. Doh.

I'll have to give my Cub Scout 'mechanics' badge back now...

G - you get this sorted or do you still need a hub puller?
