DIY section ?
You know what it is like you scour the web as you want to x or y to the car. How about a DIY forum with stickies with guides from the gurus that can be referred to.
They can then be questioned within the guide posting when someone is undertaking the work effectively creating the guides own FAQ?
e.g.
Brake Bleeding
Oil change
Speaker replacement
Air filter replacement
blah

How about a wiki?
Then anyone can contribute without needing any sort of special skills (this could be restricted to SE people by logins rather than allowing the general public in.)
I think the principle is quite good, somebody can contribute, somebody else can spot an mistake and correct it, somebody else can find an easier way and amend etc etc.
If you don't know what a wiki is, a great example of this is the wikipedia, an online encylopedia composed of articles written/ammended by it's users.
