Post by Tom » Thu Apr 13, 2006 10:09 am

Anyone know roughly what a refurb of the seats would cost?

Ha Ha. For a 2000 WReg S1 Lotus Elise . Theres been one on autotrader for ages 32000 miles ish. drivers seat needs attention. Split down to metal roughly where your right hip is. wear from getting in and out. As I have to be really careful with a view to reselling, would prob have to factor in getting the seats done.

If not somone mentioned some chap in an industrial estate in lothian. Should be in the archives.

Nice. Thought it would be a lot more expensive than that. Could be an option then. :) Cheers

I remember talking to a guy at Lotus in Hethel, I'm sure he quoted £375 for getting the S1 seats reupholstered in leather to the comfy(ish) late S1 style.
My seats just had wear on the cloth patches, so they sent me up some of the cloth for free. Got those bits replaced at a place in Dundee for about £80. Would recommend them, can't remember what they were called atm. Tayside simmin or other (heh that narrows it down eh!).

Taken from Yell:

W.A Ramsay
2/1, Borthwick View, Pentland Industrial Estate, Loanhead, Midlothian EH20 9QH
Tel: 0131 440 0555 Classification: Car & Commercial Trimmers & Upholsterers

He does all sorts of trimming work - cars, boats, light aircraft. Just a tiny workshop but a hive of industry inside. He fixed a spare damaged roof I had bought, and built a new hood from scratch for a friend who has an MG RV8.

I'e heard nothing but good stories about him.

Yes he is very good. He did a small repair on my roof before I got the car. I took the seats in and he partly recovered the side pods (small tear) in black leather with red stitching. made a superb job of them. Also made me a leather gear stick cover.

Cost £200 all in.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
