Post by Victor Meldrew » Thu Apr 13, 2006 5:21 pm

Justrbought new tres.

They are still available direct from the supplier with front and rear sizes in stock.

Dear Sir,
We still do that tyre as it is very popular tarmac tyre.
We have Y compound in our stock.
We supply the tyres from our premises.
For 4 tyres:
205 50 16 RB5 Y * 4= 52.00*4=208.00+14 (del)= 222.00 + vat =£260.85
total all incl.

well there better than t1R's and cost pennies compared to yokomoko's

The set I had on the car when I got it still felt that it had more grip than the T1r's that I have on just now.. same compound... I will be using these as road tyres through the summer, saving my tir's for the winter.

Anyone got part worn slicks kicking around?

John,
I have a pair of worn down rear maxi's if you want them. No longer road legal but should do for a day or so on track.

I love the fact that you can't kill them - and the attempts have been various, including our last road trip, the handbrake in to the hairpin, followed by the backwards slide towards the edge of the road is my particular favourite! Tom your view on that? I'd have give that at least 8.6 :D

Won't be as much fun to spectate you once you have tyres that stick to the road

You must be driving like a big girl pants, I had no difficulty wearing my single yellow rears down to the "other" tyre.

Trust me Si - they must have changed compund or I've got a random tupperware set ('cos that never happens with maxies, does it?)

The Shugmoblie is more drift car than track car with them on....

I'm really annoyed about it because I ran 3 or 4 sets of maxies with no problems and loved them, but this one (going back to them after the manufacturing went to sh*t for a while) has put me off again....

Agree with you there Andy. I'd go for an 8.8 given the look in his eyes that said 'woo-hoo i'm going off backwards' shortly followed by hands in the air. Good approach, excellent execution, excellent finish. Followed by a well recieved applause.
