Hi there,

my car is in at the local body shop and whilst it is in there i want to take advantage of fixing the air con. the problem is that the air con will only blow hot air and not cold air, the car was at MMC a while back and they quoted me 1200 quid to get the front off the car and fix the vent.

well the front is coming off the car and i would like to fix the problem, however i am not sure what the problem may be. the knobs for the temp still turn its just that the air temp doesnt change.

anyone any ideas as to what may be the problem.

mmm, not 100% sure, but it could be the flap diverting air through the heater matrix being stuck (I've only seen the non-aircon version).

Does it only blow hot air all the time, i.e. you can't turn the heating off, or does the heater work okay, you just don't get chilled air?

The 1st bit could be the flap that diverts the hot air into the car being stuck. The 2nd bit could be a leak on the air con pipes, somewhere...

thanks for the reply, i get hot air and the heating system works it just when i turn the control to cold that it wont blow anything other than hot air.
