got new window mech on right side from allied vehicles. I know they replaced it cos the other was bent ...courtesy of a taxi driver...dont ask

anyway, its always been a bit stiff. not down that end much just now(Glasgow). had a look..iits swimming in PTFE grease....so why is it stiff. the other one is getting stiff again, silicone grease really helped it last time about a year ago.

I havent been arssed wit adjusting it yet...would need to dedicate a couple of hrs and recharge my swear word vocab for the event first of all...

any tips cheers guys :)

em just thought maybe i should search the forum first

ah there seems to be nothing.....

btw........there s a screw or summit jingling around in the door think ill need my dental mirror to see the critter....prolly fallen through the drain by now tho....

isnt it resourseful of lotus to make the inside of the door double up as a drain, and also to care about the environment by sealing it off from the leather interior with just a bit o' cling film and UHU. :?

You won't hear me say this often... but when it comes to fannying about inside the door - just pay someone....

Really, the lacerated arms and massive contributions to the swear box are just not worth the result IMHO.... :(

Michael,

The other area to look at is the two guide runners at front and trailing edges of the glass. Don't grease them up in the trad way, you need a fluid lube eg "Back to Black" silicone based spray...fit a straw (a la WD40) to the nozzle and inject into the runners with the window lowered. Raise and lower window a few times to spread around and hey presto, should help at least a little. Did this with mine at the weekend - see my post under Spanners and Sponges re: "fannying about" (sic) in doors ;-) - and much better now.

PS - the Back to Black idea was Lawrences. Top bloke.

could be that the locating bolts have shifted slightly this happened to mine and it stopped opening all together. i managed to fix it for a time but now the front edge of the window randomly drops down about an inch leaving a gap! absolutelly no idea what's wrong as when i look at the mechanism it's exactly the same as on the other side - which has always worked fine!!

any ideas?
