Nitrons...which ones?

Post by ABZ-Elise » Fri Oct 10, 2008 9:43 am

I decided at the AMP3 trackday how much I didn't enjoy the S2 Bilstein suspension on my S1, thought they were a bit to soft. So I've decided at the end of the month I'll buy a set of nitrons. My plans for next year are to do alot more trackdays and to pull my finger out and start doing sprints and hillchlimbs.

Is it worth splashing out for 2 way Nitrons or are 1 way Nitrons good enough. Also is it worth paying the extra money fore the Eibach springs?

Cheers,
Kev.

Hofmans 1-way custom Nitron setup gets a lot of good reviews (custom springing and valving) 2 ways are great if you've got plenty of testing days to sort out the settings, and have the experience to know what you're doing. For the other 99% of people a well-valved 1-way setup is the way forward.

I would go with Randy's kit every time. He really knows what he's talking about when it comes to setup.

No disrespect to Walshy.

Agree with Dan on this one. Walshy did work for the original nitrons when they first came out. Nowadays, he only tweaks his own race dampers.

The setup that Randy developed is fantastic. I've driven two cars with this now, and they are unbelievable. Well worth the money over the standard nitrons, i wouldnt consider anything else.

edit, the setup that Randy sells, your looking for 1 way adjustable, with helper springs. Dont bother with 2 or 3 way, you'll only fcuk it up

For clarity - Randys are the Hofmans link I supplied - just in case you don't read SELC*CK

I was wondering which one was "Randys" kit but I manage to figure it out in the end...at least my conclusion is confirmed

So 1 way adjustable, with helper springs. What about the Eibach spring upgrade, worth anything??

There is no dout in my mind that if I went with 2 or 3 way I would fcuk it up but I though I'd check anyway

Kev.

TBH, I think Randy's setup has Eibachs (not sure the standard springs from Nitron come with helpers) That said, call Hofmans, they are supposedly top drawer when it comes to taking through the options.

If you want a set, they are the ones to go for. Speak to Randy, he will chat through your usage, and will tailor them to you and your car.

Definitely get a thumbs up from me.
