I put S2 seats into my old S1 - was very easy, no messing about, bolt in bolt out. They were S2 sports tourer seats.

I think Matt had a bit of fiddling with later S2 seats though - they moved mounting holes or something.

Night and day - current car has them also (Dan swapped out the original S1 seats for some 111S S2 seats just after I bought the car).

Made the continental trips bearable :thumbsup

There were some well priced S2 exige touring seats on SELOC the other day (now on ebay) which I am guessing you are after?

i had lined up a set from junks but that was months ago so all but given up on them, i know he was having issues with the mounts but that makes sense if there is differign versions of S2 seats :)

The toyota seats are mounted differently. I had early S2111s seats in mine. I can't tell the difference between them and my 111s/standard fit exige seats that were in my car, so I swapped them back.

Yeah JJ's right, I just finished putting late S2 sports seats into the S1.

Was really hard to find out any info actually - usual sources of info on SE, SELOC and PH all initially seemed to be a bit unsure what the changes were and when they occured. I've been advised now that the seats & runners changed slightly in 2006, so as long as the S2 seats are older than that they should bolt straight to the S1 frames. The change is next to nothing either, just 5mm here and there on the seats. The runners still use the same mounting points on the car.

This has been kind of confirmed by MMC and Bell & Colville who both advised that the frames were the same up to 2006, then both gave me prices over £250 for a pair of the newer ones (but they were on back order anyway). Junks can't source second hand ones either at the moment. Even tried Douglas Valley but initially they said they wouldn't split the seats from the runners, then that they couldn't tell which cars the seats came from because they were all on the same shelf.

So I thought sod it, enlarged the mounting holes on the S1 frames so they bolted on, then cut thick strengthening plates and had them welded up locally. Hardly took any time and are far stronger than before now. If it turns out the seats you have your eye on don't fit straight away, I'll easily give you a hand to modify your existing frames.

Hope that helps...

does indeed cheers, will go give junks a shout again and see what he's saying!

Might just take you up on the offer, where did you get the welding done out of interest?

One of my pals is a time served panel beater (although no longer his day job) - we went out to his old man's work past Balmedie and used their kit. :thumbsup If it came down to it, he may do it as a homer but realistically any garage could do it. Nothing complicated was involved.
