Bilstein Dampers - S2 Exige

Post by G-Man » Wed Jan 14, 2009 10:38 pm

Hi

I have two new replacement rear bilstein dampers arriving soon.

I am considering fitting these myself. Is this fairly easy to do with a jack, blocks, socket/spanner set & torque wrench?

I am planning on switching the existing springs to the new dampers. Do I need spring compressors and/or any other tools to do this?

Does anyone know what the nuts/bolts fixing the dampers should be torqued to?

Any advice, very much appreciated :)

Cheers

G

Personally I would remove the dampers and take them to a garage to remove the springs and put them on the new dampers, will only take 20 mins for them. Spring compressors can be messy, my local mechanic showed me the holes in his garage roof

Removing the springs/dampers is a simple job for a DIY mechanic
