My elise is due a new set of rotors all round. Problem is they were done by Plans orginally back in 2004. The rear rotor bell combo is no longer suported!

Which means I need to buy new bells for the back too.
Any recommendations for a decent value/performance rear brake setup?
Cheers

If you're running standard uprights and calipers just go with the Eliseparts Ali-belled jobs. You running 14s or 42s?

You mean the AP ones or non APs. Was not sure if the non AP ones are up to it?
Currently running 42s at the front 14s at the back
Was going to try the ones Randy is pimping at the moment though.

The non AP ones should be fine for the rear, although if you intend to keep the car for ages it may be false economy as the APs will last a lot longer. There will be no performance advantage from the APs but it may be a better bet in the long term.
Yup, them Carbon Lorraine pads look interesting. Haven't tried them yet.

EliseParts Ali belled rotor combos only rated for 190bhp although I know +75% of the braking is done by the fronts when your putting out the power that yours is Jamie I'd go the AP route in which case StuPollocks a better deal than Elise Parts ~ I was £50 less than Gearys price for AP 295's bells and rotors than Gearys quoting so Std sizes may be less again and the fact that the Elise S2 has a more comon PCD so may even be cheaper again certainly worth a call and can usually get them in a couple of days

If you're concerned about GBP/mile without doubt the standard pattern disk (e.g. the EBC ones) will be best.
For what they cost, I would be inclined to chuck a pair of these disks on first and see whether you actually reach their cooling limits on track before spending any cash on the split items. I would guess you won't reach that point.

I agree with you to a certain extent Robin but the EP ali-belled discs are a good compromise with reduced weight over standard items. Whilst the standard discs may be up to the job, they won't last long using RS-14 or Carbon Lorraine pads so the EP discs may be a better long-term option with the added bonus of lighter weight and better heat dissipation.
At the end of the day it comes down to how much you reasonably wnat to spend.

Why does anybody need all that stuff, though? Sure it's all marginal improvements, and maybe the likes of Walshy and Randy will be able to extract the 0.25s/lap that these things are worth, but I'm guessing I wouldn't notice the difference (other than the cost) and I'm at least average ...
Cheers,
Robin

Meh! Maybe you're right. To be honest though, on the high powered, mostly track use, cars there is certainly a case for using APs from a longevity point of view. Especially when very hard compound pads are being used.
I know from personal experience that EBC discs don't last very long at all with hard pads, front or rear. AP discs on the other hand will last 20-25 sets of pads so will work out cheaper in the long run for the serious user. A lot cheaper.
