Noise

Hi all looking for someone with a little better ear than myself, I took this video tonight as it was the only way I could think of another way to let you all hear.

It is in particular the ticking noise. My money is on Tappets but it does seem very loud.

anything else it could be.

How is the oil level and does it go away when warmed up?

There are quite a few very similar noises posted on cars on Seloc but nobody has posted what the fix is

You could ask this guy http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php? ... 217&page=1

Mine sounds a bit like that if it has sat for a while without running .Goes away after first run .

I am by no means a mechanical expert, but years ago i had a similar problem on my XR2i. It turned out to be the manifold gaskit. Just something else to think about!

My exige made that noise but louder and it was the tappet shims, then it did it again because of a leaking manifold gasket.

Sticky tappet. I used to get it occasionally on runs when I used 0W40 oil. Since swapping to heavier stuff, never happened.
