Road spring compressors on Elise

Post by Tim S » Sun Feb 22, 2009 8:40 pm

Before I bother buying a set, can anyone advise whether normal types of road spring compressors can be used on the Elise with the spring/damper in place - or do the wishbones get in the way??

(In case anyone's wondering, wanting to do this to shorten the springs and hence make it easier to adjust the ride height).

Thanks

Tim

I think that you need some very thin ones as there isn;t a fat lot of room between the coils

I don't think you need them for nitrons ... use a punch or a long hex key of the appropriate diameter and insert into the hole on the collar and turn; for any reasonable ride height, the preload is so small that this should not be a problem.
