alarm playing up

Post by mainsy » Thu Feb 26, 2009 1:25 pm

hopefully a simple fix :? i have the cobra alarm on my 99 s1 and it isn't being nice anymore :x

when i try to activate it it emits a tone and stays on until i deactivate it again. if it is left it will activate itself after a minute or so, as the signal lights flash as if it has, but when i open the doors the alarm doesn't sound. this is so even after leaving it for an hour and opening.
is there a way to reset or will it need an expert to fettle it?

any input is greatly received :D

Sounds like one of the switches is not working or shut correctly. Check all the doors and hatches are closed properly. Think the engine bay cover one is favourite for playing up or going out of adjustment.

The flashing light after a minute or so is the imobiliser. ( if its similar to the S2 alarm .

An expert will be along shortly

:withstupid

Just push the switch down and activate the alarm, if it stops making the tone - problem solved
