Verniers

Looking through all the receipts etc. for the car I see that in the past it's had a set of verniers fitted.

not knowing much about this side of things, is there any reason to fit them to a as good as standard car ?

There is some small reason to do it - but chances are it would have some kind of cam change at the same time.

No mention in the Sinclaires receipts about cams being done just "set up cam timing" was done at the same time as a 52mm TB was fitted, and a new cam belt and tensioner although id have thought these would have been done when the pullys were replaced anyway.

I'll maybe have a look under the cover tonight and see if i can see anything obvious on the cams that would make them stick out as having been changed


Oh and i thought a 52mm TB was standard on a S160 ?

SVA cars only. Never realised you had an S160; it'll have had the verniers fitted to try and improve driveability.

What he said. The S160 is often a total pig unless verniers are fitted ...
