Jacking the car up...

Okay a garage is taking my car in on Thursday to powdercoat the wheels..
I'm going to give them very clear instructions on how to jack the car up etc but the car is obviously going to be sitting with the wheels off it for a day - how will they do this? Axle stands I imagine but I've heard the trays need to come off for this..
Can someone shine any light on it for me so I can pass on the info?
Thanks

Provided they are careful they can place axle stands on the bottom of the rear damper mounts in the wishbones - preferably with wooden blocks in between. Front ones go under ends of the chassis rails (again with blocks, preferably).
Obviously they need to beware that the car is now sitting on its rear suspension so not quite as solid as it would be if the chassis was on the stands, but hardly any different.
Cheers,
Robin

Got the car back yet? Where did you go? Did they make a good job of it?

Had to re-book me as the guy called in sick
Had the day off for it so still went up to show them the car, have a look at the paint colours etc. Looks a goos setup!
Will do a write up once it's done!

Cool, what place is it? How much are they charging per wheel? I take it it's all done in one day?
Look forward to hearing you comments once you've had the job done as I could do with getting the wheels on the BM done.

Meant to say good* obviously
It's a place called Newlife Tyres in Duddingston. They will powdercoat Gloss Black, Subaru Black (basically matt), Silver or White.
All done in a day, drop it off at 8am pick it up at 4pm. Guys are really busy though so need to book in advance! I couldn't find a day to suit so not back in the diary for a couple of weeks.
They are charging me £190 all in. Thats tyres on and off as well

You had this done yet Lewis?
I'm seriously tempted to get mine done soon.
