Doesn't look like MMC are coming back to me on this one today!
If anyone is handy enough to embrace a 111R throttle body let me know as tomorrow morning I'd love to have a look at it
Sounds like it is sticking, and someone down south has the same issue....he's now on his 2nd throttle body

Knowing next to nought about the 'yota, can you get to it easily? If so a good old clean out with some spray switch cleaner (Isopropyl Alcohol or similar) probably wouldn't go a miss. Then a dose of white lithium grease to stop it happening again.
I use this on almost anything electrical and sticky (Make of that what you will

) and it normally works a treat as long as something isn't broken.
Pics or a snippet from the service manual?

cheers Rich.
Can't find the sodding thing in the service manual.
Might have to leave it for mmc and clean out the induction kit tomorrow

Took the throttle body off and cleaned it. Couldn't get one of the sensors off though, as it had a 5 start anti-tamper screw holding it on! Now just need to get MMC to reset the MIL light to see if we have solved the problem. There was a lot of crap in there, so hopefully that was causing the high rpm warning.
Definetly worth making a point to everyone that if you have an induction kit fitted be sure you keep it well serviced, as mine was doing SFA in its current state!

aye, that'll be the MAF - they are held on with security torx (spelling) screws.
hope thats it sorted, tho id still be thinking of changing the sensor to be sure things working properly with regards air/fuel mixture.

No not the MAF
Held on with a 5 point version of a normal 6 point torx
