Standing Start

As most of you may know, the number of standing start the car has done is stored in the ECU.
Does anyone know what would trigger the data to be stored in the ECU. i.e. the RPM, throttle position, velocity achieved within the first x seconds etc.
Thanks.

" apparently , the ecu reconises when the revs are held above 4500rpm for more than 5 seconds , then if the car hits 0-60 within a certain time then the ECU records this . Maybe one to watch for all the guys who frequent tracks and have warrenty remaining."

Mass,
When i bought my old car I had the ECU download printed out by the Lotus dealer to check that there were no obvious issues.
It had 5 standing starts logged on it.
About a year later I had the ECU download printed off again, there were still 5 standing starts logged but they were not the same ones.
I think the ECU just gives out the last 5 fastest standing starts it has logged.
I found the Lotus ECU dump printout interesting as it has lots of "useful" info on it that doesn't show up on my cheapo scanner software such as the number of running hours in various rev ranges.
Take care,
Frank
