Hurricane Induction Kit now fitted

Post by Rob H » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:47 pm

Thanks Mark and Doc for your replies, got back to Yvo this afternoon and sorted out my problem.

Just in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation here's what I found out, hope it might help.
The reason the adaptor didn't fit was due to a resonator box under the wing, apparently not all models have this but my 2003 111s did, it's part of the air filter unit and as I was doing away with the original it was no longer required, so it was just a case of removing this along with the filter unit.
It's pretty straight forward to get off there's a bracket held on by two bolts to the rear wing, and some hoses to disconnect. The box can then be removed via the rear wheel arch.

As you mention Doc the fitting of the Induction kit is then straight forward enough.

I also saw that the engine malfunction light came on after the new induction kit was fitted, I guess this was due to the change in parameters picked up by the Engine management system, after a few runs and stopping and starting the engine it went out again.

Hope this is of some use.

Rob

Great effort Rob, they are quite discreet when driving 'normally' and make a nice noise when in a hurry :D
