After 7500 carefully driven miles it would appear that my AD07s are getting close to replacement.
I'd like to understand what my choices are but am having trouble understanding the wheel sizes. Standard fronts are 175s and I understand this is the recommended tyre for the 5.5 rims (this severely limits my choices), however, I have the optional Ultralight wheels and from what I can tell these may be a 6j rim???
Can anyone confirm the size of the Ultralight wheels? If they are 6j it would seem that up to 205 width tyres can be fitted which would open up the choices significantly (target 195).
Any help welcomed on this.
Cheers, Peter
S2 SC Tyre options (wheel sizes??)
Re: S2 SC Tyre options (wheel sizes??)
Just put 195's on Peter and you will be OK either way.
My rears were supposed to be a max of 205's in the early days, but we have all used 225's for years.

Yup, 195/45 will go on the J6 rims, and that's what i'd reccomend. I'd steer clear of the 205 fronts as you'd have to fit /50 profiles to get them on a J6 rim & this will give you a bit more sidewall flex. The 205/50 will increase the sidewall size by a quarter inch, but if you get XL / reinforced sidewalls, this may not be a problem. You'll also upset the balance of the car unless you go with wider rears.
FYI, I'll be running 235/45/17 & 205/40/16 shortly but I have non standard rims.
