Just out of curiosity what does the touring pack for the S2 Exige consist of ?. Wondering about fitting the sound proofing to keep the misses happy (ish) as she doesn't like the engine roar you get in these, which I of course love

. But I spend more time with her than the car (only just) so to keep the peace...................
thanks
Mike

I would doubt how much the sound"proofing" really helps. I'm sure it takes the edge off. But the real solution (other than divorce) is quality earplugs.
Even just the soft rubbery ones that look kinda like layered cones will make a big difference, they are comfy to wear for long periods and you can still hear the CDs and some amount of clear conversation over them.
Try this...
you - "darling, I would like you to wear these for me"
wifey - "you WHAT? you pervert, no chance...I want a divorce"
problem solved

Then you could scrape together the readies for something a bit cheaper but just as much fun...an S1

I think the touring pack was just the soundproofing and carpets although I'm probably forgetting something. What exhaust have you got on it? I've got a stage 1 and the touring pack if you want a listen for comparison

Apart from the carpets the Touring Pack also has an extra layer of foam insulation behind the plastic panel behind the seats. Any difference in engine noise compared to a standard car is pretty marginal though - after all there is just a window between you and the engine bay. How about changing to a Europa, or failing that, change the wife

?

Sounds like a valuable lesson in life. Buy the Elise first, then find a suitable wife to go with it.

IIRC as well as the sound proofing,Touring pack had : shelf divider, hand brake 'gaiter' 1/2 leather gearknob and drivers airbag and I think cup holder too. Non of which will appease the other half.
Swap to Europa was what worked in my household

, but not a bad move to make to keep domestic harmony .

I wouldn't waste money on trying to retrofit the OE Touring Pack - been there, done that and ended up very disappointed. You can get much better results yourself with just a bit of time and effort and readily available materials. I'm pleased with the results on my S2 Exige and still have a couple of thing in mind to do. PM me and I'll let you have a blast to see what you think.

Na, no way. I'll change the wife before I change this car, at the moment I like the car too much. (hope she doesn't read this

)
Will have to find out what it was that guy used in his as apparently it really quietened it down. Kinnon?
Cat, offshore till the 29th but once home will do
