Noise Level 100db

Hi,
We have organissed our anual trip away this year to Castle Combe on the 7th Aug. the noise level is < 100db. The 7x S1s are all the same with CAT removed and sports box. Is there anyone going to Knockhill tonight that could bring a db meter.
Also: If we had a failure is there anything we could fix on or some way we could reduce noise by inserting some made up baffle ?
Regards
Coko

100db is quite loud, but if your back boxes don't have any baffles or packing in them, then you can easily see 120db.
There aren't any quick fixes to this, other than to refit a more baffled exhaust, or to repack the ones you have if they're repackable.
Bolting a baffle onto the tail pipes is unlikely to work, and the marshalls may not be all that happy with it either, as these pipes often get blown off and become a hazard.
If you're in doubt, book-a-track used to offer to send a noise meter to you by post for a deposit - you could then test your car before you went to the circuit - or you could buy one from, e.g., Maplin:

It's only 20 quid - it'll save you a hell of a lot of trouble later on ...
Cheers,
Robin

Is it a static test or drive-by at Coombe?
If its drive-by the static test won't help much.
I will be at Knockhill on Monday and will have my noise meter with me.

You can get a free db meter for the i-phone , claims to be +- 2db. Might put your mind at ease?

I've only done one T/D at Castle Coombe, nearly two years ago, at that time it was static noise test same as Oulton.
Take care,
