Only difference from the std VX cable is that the eliseparts one can be adjusted from both ends

Welcome to the crazy world of vauxhall / lotus parts ! Some offical vaux parts are twice the price - some are half the price. Truely random :thumbsup

Balls!!!!

Just had a note from elise parts saying it will not be in for at least 10 days!!!!
Gave Murray Lotus parts department in Edinburgh a ring and spoke to Neil who said straight away (without checking)that they couldn't get one because "the elise didn't have one" hmmmm...interesting!

Any other suggestions of places to try?

You could give Bell & Colvill a try - they're showing hand brake cables on their website, although only for the S1. Not sure if that'll fit the VX.

Thanks for this folks.

I checked the eliseparts catalogue and it seems they supply the same part for the Elise S1 and the VX. Same part number!
I phoned back Murray Lotus and spoke to the other guy Thomas. I told him that it was the one from the S1 elise and he said he could get one for Saturday. Paid the extra to get it overnight and it worked out the same price as the eliseparts one.

Pick it up tomorrow.

Was that the cause of your clunking nosie then Bob (rubber worn through and hitting off the guide)?

I think it was actually to do with the cable being siezed and it doing funny thikgs with the caliper. We'll soon find out if it's still there on Friday.
