A quick favour please

Can someone please measure the diameter of an exhaust manifold gasket?
I'm trying to work out how far I can open up the ports on this head.

Can't help with the measurements but wouldn't you be best to buy an inlet & exhaust gasket and use it as a templet????

That way you know that the ports will match.

That was the plan, but I'm working days and can't get one, just wondered if someone had one lying about.... I have the outline from the previous gasket but wanted to be sure of the sizes

Rich, pretty sure I've got one somewhere in me bits box, where about on it exactly do you need it measured from?

It's pretty academic now as I have just discovered I am sharing a room while in Pastieland (Cornwall) for 2 weeks and I doubt that my roomie will be impressed with ali swarf everywhere

Or the chatter of a Dremel at full bore

I still don't know what they were thinking as I'll be one of 2 officers on Detchi shifts, 24hrs on 24hrs off, and we can't share a room as we're on opposite shifts so we'll always be waking each other up

Missing Mexi-Towers (I hope you all enjoy it in my absence) and I'll end up with dopey the pilot with the IQ of a Tesco value baked bean. And No car to escape in either!

Might take the head and dremel anyway then my roomie will be demanding another room....

I don't think there are enough rooms TBH, god help us all if we ever have to organise a war

I wouldnt bother too much with the exhaust ports all the gains will be from the inlet and a step on the exhaust wont matter at all as long as its the head ports that are smaller

Good point. I just started with the zorst side as it is shorter and easier to get into.
