Exige touring pack carpets

Post by Mikie711 » Sat Sep 05, 2009 4:52 am

Can somebody tell me how the carpet set in the S2 Exige is held down. I can see that B&C sell retainers top and bottom which would appear too be riveted in place. What I don't know is how many and where they go. Also there is finishers for the sill carpets.
Could buy the manual but it's £100 for just the bodywork. Engine, gearbox and parts list is extra .

The carpet on the floor is held down by two carpet buttons on each side closest to the seat (so you would need 4 in total - I can send you pics if need be). These buttons are self adhesive, stick to the floor, ur carpet is put over the top of them (with a wee hole manually made to put the button through on each side) and the top half of the button screws into the bottom half to hold them down.

The top half of the pedal is held down by 3M double sided tape which is already attached to the carpet, so just peel and stick. The sill carpets are also the same. There is a silver detail ridge on newer models that comes with the car (as I believe they now come standard with sill carpets) but older models 04-06/-07 have to just buy the sill carpet sepereratly. It also sticks down with 3M (provided) all the way along. I have them in mine (05 model).

Cheers guys :thumbsup. Carpets on there way with the sill finishers. The underseat and bulkhead ones fix the same way i.e. with double sided 3M tape. For anybody that's interested £111.00 for all the carpets, tape and finishers less the drivers and passenger front mats and fixings.
