can you renew/extend a lotus warranty?

Hi as per the title the lotus warranty i got when buying my car is due to run out in a couple months time. I was wondering if you can renew this warranty, or get the car checked over and take out a new one?

Would definately prefer to have one as over the last year the car has been in for the odd thing, mainly the engine block seal which would have set me back around a grand if it hadnt been covered.

Cheers in advance for replies.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I looked into this when the warranty ran out on our car. You can do it but it’s a heck of an expense and involves your car having a three and a half hour inspection at the dealer before Lotus's warranty people will consider letting you take out another years cover - they charge a fair bit for that also. AA Parts & Labour is £65 per year with up to five claims of £500 in each year. I've used it twice this year, once for a snapped camshaft, the other claim being a new alternator. Absolute bargain.

Cheers,

John

Hi John,

thanks for the reply. I had a feeling it would be expensive to do. Will have a look at the AA parts & labour as sounds good.

Cheers,

Kevin
