Due to it appearing to be made of blue tack I had to drill it out to get my discs off.
Does it need replaced when putting new discs on?
Take it its a trip to MMC in the morning

Yup, I had to drill out all of mine, that was 3 years and 40k miles ago, with no issues!

Yes, you don't need it - S1's don't have them to start with - the only reason the S2 has them is that as it has no studs, the disk can just fall off if the wheel is removed - this never actually happens because the caliper keeps the disk on and so does the rust
Cheers,
Robin

Yup, they are made of cheese.
Also if you've just drilled the head of the countersink screw off you can leave the body in situ. Helps line up the holes in the disk for the wheel bolts.

Thanks all, job done.
When I was doing this I could help notice how flimsy the droplinks and antiroll bar are
Next job me thinks

Have a nosey at my ARB if you're at SIDC on Saturday.
Droplinks are standard though...

I had these issues before on the pug when I was changing over the discs. Sharpen up a centre punch and get it in a corner tapping it round done the trick before I pulled out the drill.

Too late. Found a thread about it on VX220.org used a 10mm drill bit an it literally just popped off.
