Same prob with N3. Try cleaning and lubing the IACV. Tis underneath the T/B so you need to take that off.

Mine started doing this a few months ago between 500 and 1500 rpm. IACV cleaned out and works perfectly now. More likely to occur if you have an after-market filter ?

The idle control valve will be stuck. It will rev up to 2k then the ECU will cut the ignition to bring it back down. The it goes up again, etc. etc.
You have to remove the throttle body to get to the ICV which is mounted on the bottom. If you use any sovent type stuff to clean it, makes sure you spray some grease in to lubricate the bearings at either end.

Do you know what they are talking about?
First of all its in the back of the car (behind the seats) there is a body panel that has a large snorkle type thing on it. that comes off. Get someone that know what they are doing to help you remove it. While that part is off give it its once a year oil check

Will give it a shot Scotty, while it is open would it be worth getting your
special mechanic to have a look at it to see if he could release any more ponies ?
