Guys
My car was parked up all weekend and had been fine before, then I started it yesterday and the MIL (management Information Light) is on permanently. No power loss, no rev limit just the light being lit. My exhaust has been blowing (I think at the flexi section) for a couple of weeks and I was hoping it would survive until the end of the month when its going to be SORNed for the winter. Could the MIL be as a result of the exhaust blow? Perhaps a faulty lamda sensor?
Is there a way to reset it without an ODBII interface and software and how do I find out what its complaining about.
Thanks!

You need the reader and I think you may have guessed right!
People on here have the readers to get the code for you and can also reset it.

In the meantime put a piece of tape over it, or trade it in for an S1 with no electronic gizmo lights.

If whatever's triggered it has gone away then it'll clear after something like 5 or 6 engine starts. If it stays on after that you'll need a reader

Ok so ignoring it didn't work. Its now decided to limit my throttle and is misfiring. I read somewhere else that coil packs could be trouble or is it now worth diagnostics? First time in YEARS that a car has let me down and I had to cancel my meeting.
MIL flashing rather than on all the time.

Flashing = bad news - don't try to drive it, could be something major

Flashing is because it is detecting the misfire that is apparent.
Do you have AA parts & labour?
Will most likely be coil packs but there is any number of things that could causing the problem.
