Post by Corranga » Mon Nov 23, 2009 7:01 pm

Are these from another car / can they be bought cheaply?

They are from a Silver Shadow
I only know this from viewing a PH thread ages ago entitled where Lotus borrowed their components from

Cavalier -- Indicator stalks, keys
106 -- Switch gear
Generic Cibie (Renault 4) -- headlights
MG ZT260 -- break calipers (front on the Elise)
Rolls Royce Silver Shadow -- Number plate lights
Rover 1.8k -- engine
Maestro -- front wheel bearings
Metro -- steering rack (upside down)

There are no doubt many others that you can add to the above list........... :cheers

Metro/Rover 100 mirrors
The 'high level' rear light has SAAB on the back of it too...
Corsa/Astra boot locks and key, and i'd assume ignition barrel too (on doors)

The cavalier indicator stocks I *think* here used on later astras too, but I think they aren't quite identical, I think one of the Vauxhall ones has an extra function not used in the Lotus, possibly push wiper stalk forward for rear wiper?
