ITG maxogen Filter install

Post by Stumpy Nugget » Wed Dec 02, 2009 6:14 pm

For anyone installing an ITG maxogen induction kit into a K series S2 you should note that you dont have to remove the wheel and liner to install it. So ignore the instructions like I did and it will save you a bit of time and effort. There is plenty of space to remove the old air box and install the new one.

Regarding the age old debate on whether the kit makes any difference to car performance. I have to say it does not. Slight difference in exhaust tone but that is about it. I put it this way.. its like oiling the wheel of a hamster setup... the wheel still turns the same but the poor old hamster does not have to work just as hard... :P

Anyway.. most expensive bit of sponge I have ever bought... :thumbsup

In isolation it doesn't do much, although on my car you can also hear an induction note over and above that of the exhaust.

Your right, you don't need to remove the wheel arch on a standard elise but you will on a 111s as it has an additional resonance box which is a bit of a bitch to get to otherwise - As Ali C found out quite some time ago.

And I think your missing the point - you now have CF under the bonnet!
