Oil 2 water cooler isn't that hard to fit. IIRC Shug and I had his done in a little over an hour and that was the inital install to.
Pricey though at a shade over £300 - it's currently the item that I'm putting my pennies aside for.

Well worth it if it's tracked. Get the Rover PRT stat (£60ish at Land Rover Dealer) at the same time and kill 2 birds with one stone (install much easier with both at once)

nice one, a bit pricier than I thought but glad to hear it's an easy install. Is the PRT the remote thermostat thing that stops thermic cycling and hence reducing the risk of HGF? or is that something else?

That's it. Pressure Relief Thermostat. Makes the cooler install a little more complex, but thery're both in mine and fit okay. Some ingenuity with pipe cutting (and a bit of ally tube nicked off an old 214)
The only thing I had to add to mine (and it was for peace of mind, probably not essential) was a stiffer engine steady bar, so all the pipe joints at the cooler/stat area suffered less movement. TBH though, now it's in, there looks to be enough room for things to flex.

Isn't there a diesel rover with an O2W cooler? Anyone know which model it was?

Mine cost about £100
£40 for a brand new mocal w/oil cooler (e-bay)listed as a wrx item but I have seen one listed as a rover 800 auto box cooler ?
It is longer than the others I have seen but fits under the coolent tank on its bracket to the clutch clyinder also I used a piece of top coolent tube with the bleed screw in for a high bleed point
£15 for the hoses to be made up local, amazing quotes for this had to shop around
£17 - £24 I think for the sandwich plate rover p6 v8 if i remember
£12 samco hoses 90 deg 38mm-42 if i remember
and a light weight heat sheild for the exhaust / cooler pipes I made
I had to change the r/h sill hose and fit the later lower water tube because Ive got a early S1
but for a off the shelf one I like this
