Probable fault.. squashed cable..
other options, rusted cable? sticky mechanism at pedal end?
Have I missed anything? ... The Jenveys are lovely and free moving so it isn't them.
Plan for morning.. get the undertrays off again and check if the cable is flat, de-flaten with mole grips or if possible.
Disconnect at each end and check the cable is free.. undo the bobbin thing and pull the cable partly into the sheath then force oil through it to lubricate.
Quick fix needed... sticking throttle..

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).![]()

Vic,
Not sure if the Lotus throttle cable has a liner, little plastic tube insert that runs up the whole length of the cable. If it has it's possible that the heat shielding hasn't done it's jog and it has started to melt where it runs close to the exhaust. 4-2-1's generate a lot more heat under the engine right where the throttle cables routed. You'll feel it when you have both ends free, it'll feel notchy IYKWIM.
Edit: Just a thought, might not be the cable, could be the TPS on it's way out or picking up interference on it's signal wire. It'll show up on the live data screen or plug in your laptop and run the emerald data logger and log the TPS signal.

Check the full movement of the linkage at the TB end (if you've gone with the Jenvey linkage like me) It does run the cable end quite close to the TBs at one point (if it's underslung), so key to make sure there is plenty of clearance with the cable. Mine occasionally has a little notch in the return, where the cable ever so slightly snags.

It's mechanical related, the pedal only returned half way up.. bit fettling required.Mikie711 wrote:Vic,
