Still pretty new to this forum.

Need to get slightly kerbed alloys refurbished. Any ideas/recommendations. Preferable Aberdeen area but would also be willing to travel for a 'same day' job.

Martin,

Front or rear, one or manY ?

I have a 111R rear that was refurbed by Blasted Alloys - nice job - you are welcome to have a look at the quality.

I no longer have the 111R, so you could have the wheel for a small fee !

Philip.

Finese coatings at the harbour did my wheels. I wouldn't call it refurbish they blasted and coated them, pititing still shows up. I was round at a coater in Newburgh and liked the look of his work.

Motorwerks on Forest Avenue Lane did my S1 Exige wheels - they send them south to Carisma(?) I believe. Excellent job, and well priced. I dropped the wheels off but I believe they can keep the car on the ramps while the wheels are away if that suits better... :thumbsup

From another thread - if you are ever in Edinburgh
Just checked my invoice and they;

removed tyres x 4
sandblasted wheels x 4
repaired chips (doesn't specify how many)
powdercoated wheels gloss black (choice of any colour) x 4
replaced tyres x 4 (at my chosen PSi)

£156.52 with £23.48 of VAT = £180 all in.

Checked jacking points with me, talked about the car for an hour as well.

I dropped off at 8am and collected at 5pm same day - can't get much better service than that

Newlife Tyres Edinburgh - 0131 669 1464

For peace of mind, it's who Greypaul Lambo, Ferrari and Porsche all use.

Just got quoted £250 from Newlife tyres... bit of a jump from £180, booked it in anyway.

For your Elise wheels!? I just paid £250 for the 18's on my BMW.

Finish is good, although the speckle silver they do is nowhere near as nice as the standard BMW colour.

Still, I was happy with the service, and to be honest I'd probably have paid more than that purely because it was so hassle free having them all done in a day.

Is there not a place in Kintore/Inverurie way too? They did Tut's N1 Wheels. PPS or something?

Based in Inverurie

This mob get a good name in the Aberdeen area and will be who I will be using once I get my finger out my arse.

The cost to prepare the wheels (including all blasting and dressing of kerb marks) and powder coating your wheels would be : £45 + vat per wheel but you will need to take the tyres off before you take the wheels round as they do not fit or remove tyres.

At the moment it is taking nearly 2 weeks with the amount of items PPS currently have in.

Cheers

Chris

Ah indeed. I didn't think it would cost much more to refurb a 17 inch wheel than it would an 18 inch wheel. I guess 18s are £60ish a wheel.

£210 for 4x17" wheels removing tyres and refitting with balancing.

Drop in any day before 8:30 and he'll get them done that day. Sounds like a good service. :thumbsup

sounds like an additional £10 on each quote - maybe an additional cost for something else like taking the tyres off etc?

when i was there it was £40 for 16s and £50 for 17s so I guess it's £60 for 18s.

my post here for anyone that wants a read - http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... k&start=15 - they were very interested in doing me a good discount if I could have got a group buy so if there are a few of you going to them i'd be asking them about it again if I were you!

I just literally dropped off my wheels this morning.
I'm not using their same day service as I can't pick up the wheels later on and my car is going into the garage tomorrow.

Will be picking them up on Saturday morning hopefully. :thumbsup

Was shown some examples and the gloss black finish is lush! :D
