Sorry this has probably been asked numerous times but my car is in for a service at MMC and needs new front discs and and pads (Elise SC)

They have quoted around £500 to supply and fit which appears a little steep to me

What would be my best option for mostly road use with the occasional track day - say 2-3 per year

Was thinking EBC Grooved discs and pagid RS 42 from Hanger 111 at around £300 delivered and allow £100 ish to fit ?

Cheers

Benny

Pagids from Eliseparts and discs from Stu P. Then fit them yourself!

Never tried pagids but might they not be a bit expensive for just 2-3 trackdays a year. I had mintex on the elise and thought they were excellent, particularly from cold. I did FF7 on them and the tyres went before the brakes did.

I now have EBC yellowstuff on the exige and I don't like them. Very poor bite from cold and wooden feel. Of course no doubt the servo is masking some of the feel.

The elise and now the exige both had/have EBC turbo grooves on them and they seem to stand up well, much better than the OEM drilled that were on both cars. On the exige they were shot after 9k.

Change the discs and pads yourself and save £100 - it's an easy job and no doubt someone local will be able to assist if need be.

I paid about £125 delivered for a pair of EBC Ultimax discs, and would've thought you'd get front Pagids for about £100. Ed and I are switching to Carbon Lorraine pads from Randy which are a bit cheaper. Buy me a pint (or three) and I'll fit them for you :D :cheers .

EBC ultimax from eliseparts = 147

carbon lorraines from hofmans = 96

total = 243

i would guess Ali or any other garage could fit them in an hour, so maybe 50 quid labour.
