Supercharger Info?

Post by craignicol » Tue Apr 06, 2010 3:19 pm

Not sure if anyone can shed any light on the below questions. A friend of mine has to know everything about everything but it did get me thinking to:

What info could you provide about the supercharger fitted to the Exiges? Do you know the make / model / layout etc? Just out of interest really as I’m trying to get my head around the whole issue of sizing a charger and selecting the correct pulley size.

Do the Lotus tuning folk fit smaller pulleys to up the boost? What sort of boost figures do you get? :?:

The Charger is an Eaton MP62. I think the standard pulley size on the Exige S is 3.4" but I may be wrong.

The MP62 is available in many different configurations dependant on bypass valve positioning, nose length, etc.

Thanks for the info Dan,
After a little more digging it would appear that a bigger charger would be a rather straight forward modification.
(Need to put these ideas straight out of my head!)

No benefit from a bigger charger really.

The MP62 will give more than enough boost. Chargecooling and a smaller pulley is the way forward on an Exige S.

Do you do upgrades to get 2008 Exige S to circa 300 bhp?

How much?

Cheers.

I would still be keen to get this 260 upgrade that people were speaking about.
Anyone got anymore feed back on that yet?
