Damper length vs ride height ratio

Anyone know the ratios of damper length to ride height? I seem to remember it was about 1.6?
i.e. 10mm on the spring platform equals 16mm ride height difference?
Are the ratios different front to back?...and I assume they vary a bit over the range of ride heights...
Looking for numbers for an S2 Exige. I could always measure wishbones etc. and do some trig...
