Toe link upgrade

Hi

I'm looking to change toe links as I've got a wee bit play in nearside linkage, and as I've now done four trackdays in the couple of months I've had the car I've decided to fit an upgraded kit. Currently looking at Elise parts and Elise shop. The Elise shop one's look a bit more substantial, can anyone tell me where the originals usually fail, i.e. is it the ball joint or locating thread for the ball joint, I suspect it isn't the Tie rod itself. Also are the old ball joints usually hard to split and are any special tools required to break joints.

Cheers

if it were me, i'd go for the eliseparts kit.

I'd make sure you get the rubber covers with it, and make sure you fill them with grease, as even though the instructions says you dont need to, they will develop wear, and they wont be covered by warranty
