:welcome Welcome to the forum Caley.

Couple of things first, typing a message with caps lock on is the same as shouting and most people don't like being shouted at so do us all a favour and type normally please :thumbsup . It's also customary to post up your first message in the newbies section, just to introduce yourself and say hello to everybody, have a look at the forum charter while your there which we encourage everybody to read.

As to your question, I had an emerald fitted to one of my cars and used Ricky Gauld at Huntly to map the car. He knows the Emerald system really well and would get you sorted out. To get you up and running you can contact Emerald themselves detailing the spec of your engine and they will send you (e-mail) a base map which once loaded will get the car at least running. Makes mapping much easier if you start from a base map rather than from scratch, also cheaper (less RR time).
What mods have you done to the engine out of interest and is your emerald an K3 or M3D?

Tut, do you have the map for the final N1TUT K-series engine? It sounds like it might be a reasonable place to start for this engine?

Cheers,
Robin

Caley, what cams are in it, are they the original BP270's that came with the B&C 160 kit and are you running original injectors?

Mike

thanks robin & mikie
i've just sent a email to emerald for a base map because i don't have any maps at all, and the cams are the one's that b&c fitted.
the car has the cream injectors i think that is standard, so any advice you can give me is all good i don't know anyone who has any idea about the lotus elise.

I've got the full map from my B&C 160 although it never ran TB's the rest was the same should be close enough to get you started. Give me a shout if you want a copy. Having said that not sure it'll work because I had a K3 and I see yours is a M3D. You could check with Emerald and see if it's upgradable, serial number 41272 or higher. Worth doing IMHO, the newer software is much better.

Yes Robin, still have it and it looks as if it would suit his car pretty well. I think the B&C 160 had the cams changed, but not as aggressive as my 285H, then 285M, but it would certainly be worth trying the two maps. First one was done by Ricky, then I went down to Dave Walkers, spent quite a bit of time on the R/R, and the difference was 1 hp.

Don't know your name Caley, but let me know if you would like me to e-mail them to you.

Caley, PM tut with your e-mail address as it sounds like his will work as his ECU was an M3D. Try phoning Emerald, always found they were quite slow to reply to e-mails.

tut, if you changed the cams and didn't go to 285's what did you change them for as the B&C 160 has 270's in it.

Caley, I have sent you three maps to try. They are all similar, but it is seven years ago now so can not remember or check them against each other.

Mail them onto Mikie and he will be able to have a look at them as well, and compare them to his own.

Cheers
