Hi guys,
I was on a track night last night and after a couple of runs I checked my pressures and inspected my tyres.
Whilst doing so I noticed that on both the fronts the outside 'channel' was cracked all the way around the tyre. The chap who owned the car before me had only done around 2K in 2 years in it so I am hoping the fronts have just gone 'off' as opposed to being a characteristic of the tyre when used on track (they are standard Bridgestone RE040's).
The rears look fine and I will obviously order front replacements, however I just wanted to check that it is indeed not a characteristic of the Bridgestones to do this and that i'll be ok ordering the same make / model of tyre as the replacements.
Thanks for any and all help (crappy iphone pic below)

Dump em and stick AD07s on all round (current standard Lotus fitment - give Craig a buzz). Great tyre on road and track - I love em on track with Elaine's car. RE040 is properly old tech now.

Are they still making the AD07 now that the AD08 is out?

Is the 08 not a different tyre (ie. parallel product line to the 07)? Confess to not actually investigating - but the 07 is an awesome tyre IME.

Don't think so Shug, but could be wrong.

I bought a new car in the autumn, which had two fairly cheap, but new tyres on it. Barum, not a brand I would have chosen, or would ever choose again, as they fell apart:
