Nitron shocks

I am changing my dampers (due to a slight MOT failure!) but cant get my hands on rear bilsteins for 3 weeks!

Looking about on eliseparts, there are nitron alternatives, are these any good/ different, is it worth the extra to get the car on the road again?

Or is there something else out there worth looking at?

Road driving mostly with occasional track day, S2 elise if it makes a difference.

Craig, I might be able to get hold of the old Nitrons from my car if the garage still have them ( I forgot to collect them when I picked the car up), it was 4 weeks ago though so they may have been ditched by now.
From what I can gather the only viable option to the standard set up is Nitrons, having just gone down that route I would recommend the Nitrons - really tightens the handling up ( all be it at a cost).

i think Nitron are also releasing the "street" suspension, which sounds like it could be ideal for your needs and cheap at £6/700.

A better compromise for road and track use, and mega value.

Guy has had 15 sets on test and not one failure so far :thumbsup

Walshy might be able to get you a set http://www.carlimits.com and tell him andy gordon sent you :thumbsup

Andy, When I tried to get the street series shocks they were like hens teeth, although a couple of places said they hoped for a delivery in late July. I bit the bullet and went for the adjustable chaps :thumbsup

Street series are available in stock just about everywhere now.

Typical - where were they a month ago when I needed them :?

That being the case, I would go for them as a good compromise Craig, :thumbsup (or just go the whole hog and get the NTR ?)

It was the street series I was looking at.

I would love to go the whole hog but I have a wedding coming up and am stretching the car budget as it is!

Has anyone tried the street series?

Would be good to have some indication of what these Street Series things are like relative to other options, like std S2 Bilsteins, the "original" Nitrons, etc etc.

Is it time we did our own "back to back scientific test", kind of like the EVO tyre test but without the bias towards the supplier who provided the test track ;-)

If you search the SELOC forum there has been a lot of talk of the street Nitrons all highly rated.

S2 Elise I was hoping to buy (but fell through) was one of a number of cars used as a test bed in development as the guy loaned them his Elise for 3 weeks before they came on sale. Peter said there were amazing - search for posts by user 'Pete757' to find out any of his specific comments although I can't remember how much he posted on site compared to what was told over the phone

Now fitted, seem a bit more forgiving on the commute but need to play around with the adjustments and get a decent fast run/ track day to give them a proper testing.
