Have a scan through some of this. You havent gone into many details, but you might get away with not needing to remove the manifold, if you clean it up with a tap and get a new probe you might be fine. The male thread seems to be pretty sacraficial so you might be ok

If you have an s1 id recommend sourcing an s2 manifold and downpipe as this problem often occurs and it will make the problem easier to fix in the future! :thumbsup

Hi, I have an old S1 manifold sitting here that I got when I thought mine was buggered. It's got a major split at the downpipe flange, but I beleive the thread on the boss might be ok, though I havn't looked recently. I'm in Edinburgh if you want it to check if it's any use, you can have it if it'll help. :thumbsup

How about this -

" A steel lambda/oxygen/wideband boss for welding into your exhaust downpipe, etc. M18 x 1.5mm thread to accept the common Bosch wideband sensor and most other lambda sensors. 25m wide x 12mm tall. "

I have no direct knowledge of the product, just found it by googling. I'd confirm that this has the correct thread size but it seems to be common to most manufacturers.

The thread is right on the above, as mine has a Bosch wideband which screwed into the same boss as the standard Lambda sensor.
