Just trying to remove the seats this evening, passenger side came out no problem, and I've got all 4 bolts undone on the drivers side, but can't figure a way of disconnecting the seat belt warning light wires without actually cutting them. Is there a plug somewhere I can undo, or am I just going to have to cut them and solder the ends together again when I put the seat back? I'd prefer to keep everything working, even something as useless as the belt warning light.

I am sure when we changed the seats out of my S1 and into DDtB`s car there were connector blocks on each seat about 10cm from the seatbelt point and it was pretty obvious? Maybe your car doesnt have the connectors. They were the bullet type ones from memory.

The S1 has seatbelt warning lights!?!
Mine doesn't have that, just a seatbelt reminder light that goes off after a few seconds.

Aiite exige is the same, whereas the S1 had a light that only goes out when you are belted up

Deffo bullet connectors under the seat, slide it forward and you should see them. Or just chop them off not part of MOT it was aprt of the NCAT safety stuff. Seatbelt light and a few other bits needed for a better rating or something....

Yup - just to add, chopping them just means the light will never come on, so you don't need to worry about staring at a red light for the rest of time...

I always say this on seat removal threads but... watch not to skuff the ali foot plate with the seat bolts when putting the seats back in

That, sir, is a pretty good idea (in principle)
