Door won't close on Exige

Post by B12ANR » Mon Oct 11, 2010 8:13 pm

Quick question... i've had my car a week now and my drivers door doesn't close first time until (i assume) the car body warms up during the day. It only happens in the mornings hence my prior assumption. Has anyone experienced this phenomenon?

No.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

you can check the stud bolt , it can be adjusted by loosening it slightly, it may be that,

I seem to remember the catch on the body work on my 111r coming loose, and causing something similar.

I just tightened it up, correcting the work of those slack assed turnip farmers :thumbsup

im not taking the p1ss saying this but - are you closing it hard enough? if it's 'closing' to a certain point (i.e. catching the lock but not closing properly - leaves about an inch of space - and you'll know if it's doing this as you won't be able to just pull it open, you'll need to press the button again) then that's you're problem.

if not try looking at the white plastic clip within the door lock when it's open and make sure it's lubed up. it's like a claw - opens round when you push the button in and stays open until you shut the door when it clicks back round.

Yes is the short answer mate. As mentioned, it closes fine once the car has warmed up (yeah.. seriously!).

Cheers for the lock advice - i'll try lubbing the door again (MMC told me they done this to try to fix it already).
